A Journey Through the Legends – Te Mahia School Production
As part of our Term 2 inquiry unit, Ngā Whetū o Te Rangi – Navigating Our Stories, Te Mahia School proudly presented our 2025 production: A Journey Through the Legends. This integrated unit focused on deepening our understanding of Matariki and Maramataka through the lenses of Science, Literacy, and The Arts.
Our tamariki truly shone like the whetū of Matariki, bringing to life Aotearoa’s treasured pūrākau (legends) with pride, creativity, and passion. They dedicated many weeks to learning their lines, practicing movements and songs, creating props, and perfecting their performances.
The production was a celebration of mana, with each student demonstrating Mana Tu — the courage to stand tall and perform in front of their whānau, peers, and wider community. It was an unforgettable evening filled with talent, teamwork, and cultural pride.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their commitment and for sharing our stories in such a powerful and meaningful way. Tēnei te mihi maioha ki a koutou katoa — thank you to everyone who supported and celebrated this special kaupapa with us.
