NRC REP Policy outline

The Netball Rotorua Centre (NRC) Representative Policy for 2024 outlines the guidelines and procedures for all representative teams, replacing previous policies. It emphasizes the NRC's commitment to developing and supporting players, coaches, umpires, and team management, ensuring clear communication, fair selection processes, and player welfare. The policy also details the responsibilities of the Rotorua Representative Committee (RRC) in administration, selection, player welfare, uniforms, equipment, tournaments, training, and finances. Incidents and complaints are to be handled according to the NRC Complaints Policy and Procedures.

Introduction

  • Policy applies to all NRC Representative teams.
  • NRC can determine and amend policies and procedures.
  • Selected representatives become NRC members.
  • NRC and members are affiliated with Netball New Zealand (NNZ).
  • Policies to be read with NRC Constitution, Regulations, Code of Conduct, NNZ Player Development Guidelines, and NNZ Performance Pathway.

  • Focus on community engagement and netball development.

NRC Representative Objectives

  • Develop and support talented individuals.
  • Select competent Coaches, Managers, and PCPs.
  • Clear criteria for player participation.
  • Select players to best represent NRC.
  • Timely and accurate administration of the representative program.

NRC Responsibilities

  • Appoint RRC to oversee the program.
  • Approve teams for tournaments.
  • Assist with funding applications.
  • Handle serious incidents or complaints per NRC regulations.

RRC Responsibilities

  1. Administration

    • Coordinate the representative season.
    • Create a representative calendar.
    • Maintain communication between all parties.
    • Handle administrative functions for teams.

  2. Selection

    • Communicate application processes for team officials.
    • Appoint officials and selection panel.
    • Ensure a fair selection process.
    • Communicate trial details.
    • Source replacement players if needed.
    • Select 10-12 players per team.
    • Offer development opportunities for unsuccessful players.

  3. Player Welfare

    • Prioritize player welfare.
    • Apply NNZ player guidelines.
    • Record injuries and ensure medical clearance.
    • Provide appropriate nutrition.

  4. Uniform / Equipment

    • Provide suitable uniforms and equipment.
    • Charge a non-refundable uniform bond.
    • Maintain uniforms and equipment.
    • Charge for unreturned or damaged uniforms.

  5. Tournaments / Trainings

    • Provide access to training courts.
    • Enter teams into tournaments.
    • Allocate qualified umpires.

  6. Finances

    • Maintain a budget.
    • Set player fees.
    • Seek funding and sponsorship.
    • Support fundraising activities.
    • Collect and report player fees.

Incidents and Complaints

  • Follow NRC Complaints Policy and Procedures.
  • Team managers handle initial incidents or complaints.
