Waimea Sport social media accounts must:

  • Posts and comments follow the expectations in the guidelines document below.
  • Consider the appropriateness of sharing of photos, videos and information of the public.  This includes Waimea College students and staff but also more widely opposition players and supporters involved.

Social media accounts included are those set up for the purpose of creating and posting contact about a particular Waimea College player, team or sport.  This includes all competitive and social teams linked to the Waimea College Sport programme.  Approved accounts will be limited to Facebook and Instagram.

Content for Social media pages:

  • Must not use offensive, provocative or hateful language or body language
  • Must not be misleading, false or damage the reputation of another person or organisation
  • Must respect and maintain the privacy of others and not release information not suitable for public, i.e. internal organisational details
  • Must not damage the reputation or operations of Waimea College

​​​​​​​Filming and photography guidelines:

  • Respect the rules and policies of schools and venues regarding filming and recording of games
  • Filming and recording of any games should seek consent from the opposition first
  • Focus on the sport or activity rather than individual students involved
  • Players should not be involved in filming or photography if actively involved in the game (eg from the playing bench)
