There are numerous different Adventure Races you can get involved with whilst representing Waimea College. These include but are not limited to:
Torpedo Get2Go
Each year we have multiple teams compete in the Torpedo Get2Go Regional Challenge, which is held in Term 3. This exciting event is for junior students of all fitness levels and experience in which it combines outdoor adventure activities such as kayaking, orienteering, mountain biking, problem-solving, stand-up paddle boarding into an action-packed day. Winners of the regional event then get to go and compete at Nationals in December.
Coast to Coast
Held every February, the race starts on the West Coast, at Kumara Beach and traverses the width of the South Island, crossing the main divide and finishing on the East Coast with the finish at the Pier on New Brighton Beach in Christchurch
