Women's Development Singles
What a fabulous day of games. The Development ladies played a round robin draw - 2 sections, 3 games each, and a final. There was some outstanding bowls played by all competitors and a pleasure to see some great sportsmanship.
Section 1 Rd1
Lynne Hodges (Kia Toa) played Shell McGrath (Fairlie). It come down to the last end. Lynne picked up the last shot to win 21-20.
Deb Jackson ( Kia Toa) played Marg Radburnd (Waimate). Also a very good game coming down to the last end, Deb claiming the win on the last end 21-18.
Section 2 Rd 1
Melissa Thomson (Waimate) played Helen Lowe (Waimate). Also a very close game with Helen Lowe winning 21-19.
Heather Oldman (Kia Toa) played Sheryl Smith (Pleasant Point). In another very close game with Heather Oldman getting the win 21-20.
Section 1 Round 2
Lynne Hodges played Deb Jackson with Lynne winning 21-17.
Shell Mcgrath played Marg Radburnd with Shell getting the win 21/16.
Section 2 Round 2
Sheryl Smith played Helen Lowe with Helen getting the win 21- 11.
Heather Oldman played Melissa Thomson with Heather getting the win 21-12.
Round 3
Section 1
Shell Mcgrath played Deb Jackson.
Win to Shell 21-8.
Lynne Hodges played Marg Radburnd.
Win to Lynne 21-16.
Section 2
Sheryl Smith played Melissa Thomson.
Win to Melissa 21-10.
Heather Oldman played Helen Lowe.
Win to Helen 21-11.
So with two three winners from each section the final game was Lynne Hodges and Helen Lowe. Both playing some outstanding bowls. Lynne played some great draw bowls with Helen not giving up. Lynne took control of the game and came away with the win 21-14. A top effort by both players and a good game to mark.
