Pleasant Point come out on top at this year's Champion of Champion Pairs, held at Pleasant Point Bowling Club on the 28th of March. 

Pleasant Point's Sharon Fowler (skip) and (lead) Chrissy Herbert held their nerve against a gutsy pairing of Barbara Tiffen (skip) and (lead) Linda Gallagher to take out this year's title. After dropping a six on the third end, Pleasant Point looked down and out,  but fought their way back with some stunning shots by both players, finishing up 22 - 15 to Pleasant Point. Great bowls played by both sides.

Waimate's (lead) Helen Lowe and (skip) Mata Frankum lost to Geraldine

Temuka's (lead) Judy Keats and (skip) Lorraine Tyro lost to Geraldine

Fairlie's (lead) Shell Mcgrath and (skip) Jo Lane lost to Kia Toa 

Timaru's (lead) Eileen Rabbidge and (skip) Lyn Wilkie lost to Pleasant Point 

With rain on Thursday and Friday morning the green looked to be heavy.  But to the greenkeepers credit, it held up well over the day.  Thanks to Pleasant Point for hosting this event,  those who came to support players and the umpire for giving up their time.
