It was down to the wire to find the Champion of Champion Triples winner this year, held at the Fairlie Bowling Club on 29th of March.

Kia Toa came out on top this year against a very gutsy Temuka team with Temuka pushing Kia Toa to an extra end.

Kia Toa's (lead) Julie Robins, (2nd) Shirley Moffatt and (Skip) Sharon Leonard looked in control over Temuka's (lead) Judy Keats (2nd) Noeleen Milne and (skip) Lorraine Tyro, with Kia Toa leading after eight ends  11 - 5.

In the next six ends Temuka kept Kia Toa scoreless, coming back to lead  15 - 11 at the 14th end. Kia Toa picked up three shots in the next two ends. Temuka bagged one shot to be 16 - 14 at the 17th end. Kia Toa claimed two shots on last end to be 16 - 16.

The skips tossed and Temuka won, and with some great bowls being played Kia Toa took two shots to seal the win.

What a great final.

Some great games  in the semis:

Geraldine's (lead) Linda Gallagher,  (2nd) Di Calvert and (skip) Barbara Tiffen played Kia Toa,  Kia Toa winning.

Fairlie's (lead) Jenny King,  (2nd) Sally Robertson and (skip) Louise Hooper  played Temuka. This game went in favour of Temuka, but the Fairlie girls who were playing their first Champion of Champions did their club proud.

First Round:

Pleasant Point's Champions (lead) Carolyn Cook, (2nd) Jill Denton and (skip) Sharyn Fowler were put out by Temuka.

Waimate's (lead) Melissa Thomson,  (2nd) Jeanette Allnutt and (skip) Marie Harraway  were put out by Kia Toa.

Timaru's (lead) Carol Lee,  (2nd) Eileen Rabbidge and (skip) Lyn Wilkie were put out by Geraldine in a very close game.

Thanks to all at Fairlie for hosting this event and Umpire  David Vujcich .
