A fundraising year for both teams performing below par through injuries and low numbers. Player morale remained high with good comradery off the field.   

The highlight for th season saw the opening at the new clubroom and changing room renovations costing $160,000. A big night was held with a capacity crowd. Radio ad TV Personality Phill Gifford was te guest speaker.Building Conveenor and past president Allan Patterson thanked all those involved, especially Ann Winslade, Jack McCarthy and Linda Renalson for their years work running housie and generating thousands of dollars which contributed to the extensions.Phill Gifford and Allan Patterson done the official opening with Allan’s wife Fay, (who gave Allan great support during his hours of work on the project) unveiling the official plaque and then the celebrations began. Grants & funds; Otago Community Trust, Weston Progress League, Oamaru Licencing Trust, NZ Lotteries Commission, National Bank, Club funds, Parsons Building donated a large trophy cabinet.
