JAB - Numbers down slightly but teams fielded in all grades. Tim Petrie ran the section for 2012 which concluded in a bus trip to watch an Otago NPC Game at Forsyth Bar Stadium.

Presidents - The untimely and sudden death of Coach Reece Kiwara was a major blow for the team and the club as a whole. Reece was an x-player and had played for and coached Presidents grade for a number of years. Once again we combined with the south Canterbury competition along with Athletic who were the only other North Otago Club to field a team. A number of very young players joined the team and they performed very well during the season. They reached the final of the South Canterbury Competition but were beaten 35-31 by Harlequins who were a very experienced team. The North Otago final was between Valley and Athletic and the boys dug deep and dedicated the game to Reece. They won the final as defending Champions and also won the Reece Kiwara Challenge Cup. Final score Valley 25, Athletic 20. Once again the Burns Shield was hung on the Clubrooms wall.

Premier - A shaky start to the season with the bare amount of players but as the season progressed we picked up a number of good players in key positions and went onto beat every team expert Old Boys at least once during the season in a 3 round competition. Only lost to Kurow and Excelsior  once and Old Boys 3 times. We played Excelsior in the Citizens Shield Semi-Final and won 21-17. We went into the final with Old Boys as underdogs and after a grand display lost the final 25-24. We scored in injury time in the corner and a conversion just fell short under the bar.

We had an English Prop for the season - Charlie Hughs who was injured for the last three games.
