JAB - once again led by Bill Young had about the same numbers and previous years. All team now fitted out with the same jerseys as the senior club.
Senior - Same competition as previous year but once again competition spoilt by Excelsior and Athletic who refused to travel to South Canterbury for a number of fixtures. A lot of defaults and byes. Coach Graham Smith and in particular Duncan Kingan done a Stirling job in keeping the team together. Other North Otago teams broke all the rules during the season in playing premier players and other clubs without regrades or transfers. These broken rules seemed to have the blessing of the North Otago Rugby Union as all our protests fell on deaf ears. the semi finals were a complete farce with Valley the only team playing senior players only. We made it to the finals only to be beaten by Maheno 23-15. The Maheno team being made up pf players from various clubs.
Premier - A new coach and manager for 2006, Coach Don Roney, Manager - Nathan Mavor.we weren’t as successful as 2005. We were beaten by old Boys in the Aoraki Cup Semi Final while going for 24 wins in a row the team also lost to Athletic in the Citizens Shields final giving it 2 losses for the season in the two crucial games that mattered. However overall a good season with a very god team and club spirit. The South Canterbury Competition was split into 2 divisions which in Valleys point of view spoilt what was a very good format. With Excelsior not fielding a Premier team this left a bye in Valleys Pool and with the North Otago formed the season was very dis-jointed with South Canterbury byes also and it was very difficult to keep momentum up for the season.
Trophies won: James Tayles Cup vs Excelsior, David Isbister Memorial vs Oamaru Old Boys, Alex Newlands Memorial vs Maheno, James Tyther Memorial vs Athletic, Ray Mcleod Memorial Winner, North Otago Club Round Robin
